This class focuses on all of the pottery skills required to create a teapot. From throwing large-but-lightweight teapot bodies, to collaring the perfect spout, creating a snug-fitting lid, and attaching a balanced handle, students will bring all these skills together to build teapots that are both functional and full of personality! These skills will come in handy not only for teapot-making, but also for creating lidded jars, narrow bottles, and comfortable mugs.
Students can expect to make 2-4 teapots in this 6-week class. All materials and use of studio tools are included. Please provide your own apron or towel. For extra practice, student drop-ins are available on Saturday mornings for $25.
Skill level: Intermediate; this class is designed for folks who can already throw a 6-8 inch cylinder independently.
