Hand building with coloured clay

SERIES OF CLASSES

Discover a palette of possibilities in this coloured clay hand building class! Students will start by learning how to measure, mix, and store their own coloured clay, and move onto marbling, inlay, pinching, and eventually nerikomi. The class will also explore ways to create crisp lines, avoid cracking, and get that perfect coat of clear glaze.

Students can expect to take home 4-6 pieces in a 6-week class. All materials and use of studio tools are included. This class includes limited amounts of 8 different body stains in basic colours. If you have any specific stain colours you want to use, you are welcome to bring them! Just make sure the stain is described as a “body stain” or it might not show up in clay. Please provide your own apron or towel. For extra practice or working time, student drop-ins are available on Saturday mornings for $25.

Skill level: This class is appropriate for all levels; you could be new to clay, or more experienced. Students with more clay experience will get more out of this class.

Price point: This class is a higher price point to pay for the mason stains required to make coloured clay! If you have an existing 6-week class pass on your account, email us to use it and pay the difference.

Cancellation policy:
We require at least 7 days’ notice via email before the first session to cancel or to transfer to another class. After this point, no refunds, credits, or rescheduling are available. A $50 administration fee applies to all cancellations. However, if you choose a credit instead of a refund, this fee is waived. Please note that by registering, you accept the risk that you may be ill or injured on the day of your class. As a small business, we cannot offer refunds or rescheduling for last-minute illness or injury.
